If there's one thing I've learned on this journey, it's grace. We often hear this word in society, but to me, grace means easing the pressure we place on ourselves to constantly keep moving. It means being kind to ourselves, even when our minds and others insist we must keep going. We don't always need to be healing or learning new things, and through a series of events in my life, I was led into a period of deep isolation and introspection. There, I noticed parts of myself I hadn't acknowledged since I was a young girl—the fear, the anxiety. All of it surfaced, begging to be acknowledged and heard once and for all. I have to remind myself, even while creating this blog, that it should flow naturally, just as life has its ups and downs. The pressure I put on myself to constantly heal and fix things only reinforces the notion that something is wrong with us. In creating this, I've aimed to express the duality that exists within me and many of us—the incessant need to be productive, yet being so productive can lead to burnout. It's a physical manifestation that our body is telling us to slow down. So, I recommend to everyone, as I did before writing this, take the nap, do the meditation, say the prayer. Whatever you need to completely decompress and enter a state of relaxation, do it for yourself, as your mind, body, and soul will thank you. For this blog I’ll be actively discussing and reviewing things I have been applying to my life with intention to possibly inspire some along the way.
